  • The SEMO community is mourning student athlete Danny Duray (a kicker) who died early yesterday. University officials said the loss has deeply impacted teammates and staff.  KFVS12
  • Old Town Cape will honor downtown businesses, investors, owners, and volunteers at its Annual Dinner on March 26 at the Buckner-Ragsdale Event Center. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 7 p.m.-Ticket orders cost $75 each or $600 per table, with orders closing March 14.  KFVS12

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gordonville Fire Protection District recognizes three local high school students in its junior firefighter program as they train closely with district members — building firefighting skills while balancing academics and family commitments; the program limits enrollment to five to ensure focused mentoring.  Fox 23

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Missouri residents who filed claims under the federal Radiation Exposure Compensation Act have received payment including a total of $40 million—money to help cover medical bills from nuclear exposure. Sen. Josh Hawley said the funds are now available for eligible victims.  KFVS12

HEALTH NEWS

  • During Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Katie Hobeck of Safe House of Southeast Missouri visits schools in Cape Girardeau to urge parents and teens to discuss healthy relationships and recognize red flags such as behavior changes, unexplained injuries, and invasive digital monitoring (a rising trend) so that help is available.  KFVS12
