- ➤ Ameren officials detailed upgrades to the electric grid — including a substation serving 1,500 customers and storm-hardened lines — planned to boost reliability in Cape Girardeau ahead of spring storms. - ➤ County leaders updated improvement projects at Cape County Park North today. Sidewalk improvements, parking expansion, and a new Limbaugh Lane entrance may alter traffic while the disc golf course is suspended until mid-summer — Veterans Memorial Plaza is expected to finish by summer 2026. - ➤ Cape Girardeau City Council approved plans to redevelop the old Sears Grand building and surrounding areas on Monday, March 2. Mayor Kinder said the project will start immediately with work near Target first and could add over $13 million in tax revenue over the next decade. KFVS12
