GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Missourians may see higher utility bills if Governor Mike Kehoe signs a new utilities bill that allows companies to add costs for building electric plants and extends the disconnection period during extreme weather (which may raise bills by up to $1,115 annually). The governor must act by March 28.  KFVS12
  • The Tennessee Department of Transportation will close the Interstate 55 Mississippi River Bridge from Friday, March 21 at 8 p.m. until Monday, March 24 at 6 a.m. for final construction work on the I-55 and Crump interchange—additionally, in Kentucky a section of U.S. 60 will close from April 1 to April 2 and lane restrictions will begin on the Cumberland River Bridge on Monday, March 24 with daily inspections.  Fox 23
