- ➤ The Fruitland Area Fire Protection District will hold its 3rd annual Community Baby Shower on Saturday, May 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cape County Cowboy Church (220 Orchid Lane, Oak Ridge) with safety talks and car seat checks. Expectant parents may attend with one guest and must register. KFVS12
- ➤ Pope Leo the 14th is urging world prayer for peace amid ongoing violence in Iran by holding a prayer vigil live streamed at 12:10 p.m. today, with Cape Girardeau dioceses joining the call. Fox 23
- ➤ Cape Riverfront Market will host its Future Makers Market on June 6 at 35 S. Spanish St from 8 a.m. to noon to support local youth entrepreneurs by awarding a $1,000 prize + two $500 grants. The event provides a platform for young business owners to showcase and launch businesses. Fox 23
