- ➤ Cape River Heritage Museum today opened its America 250 exhibit with six displays — featuring George Washington quotes and local Revolutionary War ties via namesake Jean Pierre Girardeau — to invite visitors to explore key parts of America’s past. KFVS12

- ➤ Gov. Mike Kehoe visited Notre Dame Regional High School on Thursday as part of his southeast Missouri school tour, stopping at the Future Farmers of America program (first stop of his day) to observe student activities and discuss agriculture. Fox 23
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Community Counseling Center is offering free Mental Health First Aid courses for adults and youth in May. Sessions run May 4, 11, 14, 26 and 27 at sites across southeast Missouri including Cape Girardeau (each 2-hour session) with pre-registration required. Fox 23
- ➤ The LemonDrop Foundation raised over $75K during its sixth annual LemonDrop Long Drive held April 11 at the TeeHouse Complex with more than 125 people in attendance and top fundraisers like Nick Martin plus community members. The funds will expand support services through the ChemoPak program for cancer patients. Fox 23
