- ➤ Cape County Public Health Center is hosting Kids Day America on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families can access bike safety resources, car seat inspections, and health screenings (including spinal and scoliosis exams) with free educational activities and prize drawings benefiting Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri. - ➤ A community fundraiser called Badges Give Back Adult Prom will take place on May 2 in Jackson at KC Hall lower level (3305 N. High St.). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the dance starts at 6 p.m. $15 tickets for individuals and $25 for couples support local initiatives. Fox 23

- ➤ The Missouri Department of Conservation urges drivers to slow down as turtles frequently cross roads during warm spring weather. Officials advise that if it is safe, motorists should help the animals continue their journey and report sightings using a state app. Fox 23

- ➤ Missouri Department of Natural Resources expects builders working on state park projects to use Missouri-grown hardwood in new bids; the projects planned for the next two years will use local hardwood when available and meet state procurement standards. KFVS12
- ➤ Missouri will hold memorial ceremonies on May 1 and May 2 at the Missouri Law Enforcement Memorial to honor officers killed on duty. Officials added Bernie Police Lt. Eddie A.
