Supporters gathered at Flickerwood Arena in Jackson this weekend to hold a barrel race fundraiser for Marne Loosenort — a beloved barrel racing trainer diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer nearly four weeks ago — as her family, friends, and sponsors raised funds to help pay for her treatment. The community came together to honor her legacy and back her fight against cancer.
Yesterday, residents in Cape Girardeau and across the nation honored firefighters on International Firefighters’ Day to remember those who died in service and celebrate their bravery.
At Fire Station 1 a mural honors the late Fire Captain Ivan LaGrand and new firefighter Trey McDaniel explained why he chose this career — showing the community his strong commitment to safety.
