Deputies from the county sheriff’s office joined local partners for a children’s fishing event over the weekend in Cape Girardeau County.

Families enjoyed fishing, games and community interaction during the outdoor activity.

The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau Foundation will host its annual 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run on Saturday, June 13 at Arena Park as part of the Cape Road Runners Grand Prix.

Registration runs from 7 to 7:45 a.m. (10K begins at 7:30 a.m.) with proceeds benefiting programs for women and girls.
