- ➤ Old Town Cape will host its annual fundraiser 'Revivify: Farm to Table' on Sept. 21 in downtown Cape Girardeau—featuring local food producers, chefs, a social hour at 3 p.m., a four-course dinner at 4 p.m., and a program at 6 p.m. Proceeds will support the group’s mission to preserve downtown. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a fatal crash occurred on southbound Interstate 55 9 miles north of Fruitland on June 13 when a 2022 Volkswagen Taos left the road and struck a rock bluff, killing the 34-year-old driver from Pevley and urging anyone with information to call Troop E headquarters. - ➤ Thirteen Southeast Missouri State University communication disorders students traveled to Belize City to offer speech-language services and hearing screenings to children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other challenges at Therapy Volunteer International Clinic and Stella Maris School — the trip was part of a study abroad course that broadened their global perspective while earning college credit.
