- ➤ The Jackson community is rallying to help local businesses damaged by a fire two weeks ago by holding a Rise — Rebuild Uptown Jackson event where vendors donate part of their sales and neighbors unite in support. Fox 23
- ➤ Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center in Cape Girardeau will join the world’s largest swim lesson on June 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.—the free lesson will teach children ages 2 to 10 basic water safety and swim techniques to help prevent drowning. Fox 23
- ➤ On Wednesday, Sikeston families received free food, cleaning supplies, toiletries and toys provided by local churches and the national nonprofit Convoy of Hope to ease summer burdens. Approximately 300 to 400 families were served as volunteers delivered supplies directly to cars—boosting community support. Fox 23

- ➤ Eric Saxton, a 23-year-old from Benton, Kentucky, was arrested in Tennessee after being released from a medical facility and charged with attempted murder of a first responder, possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia following a June 16 incident in Murray where he allegedly charged at officers — he now awaits extradition while investigations continue.
