- ➤ Organizers of the SEMO District Fair announced that singer-songwriter Chayce Beckham will take the grandstand stage at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9 and that Rachel McDowell + Dirt Road Express will open for him at 7 p.m., with tickets available online and at the fair Box Office starting Friday, July 25. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Cape Girardeau firefighters responded around 10 a.m. on Monday, July 7 to a fire at White Tank & Truck Repair (on the 1200 block of Meadowbrook Lane) where smoke was seen and the concrete block building remained standing with no injuries reported. KFVS12

- ➤ Yummy Buffet in Cape Girardeau closed after a fire over the weekend and the owner said his team is deep cleaning the restaurant—he expects reopening to start as early as next week while asking customers to allow a few weeks for full safety checks. KFVS12

- ➤ Police arrested three men early on Sunday, July 6, after a shooting in Cape Girardeau near the 600 block of Woodbine Place began with a fight when one man allegedly pointed a shotgun and a second fired a stolen handgun in self-defense—resulting in felony charges including assault and unlawful weapon use. - ➤ KY 1477/Benton Briensburg Road near Refuse Road in Marshall County is closed for repair work — crews are replacing a cross drain and handling additional maintenance with work expected to finish by July 10 weather permitting. Route 67 in Butler County from County Road 527 to County Road 429 near Poplar Bluff will have reduced lanes on July 9 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Route OO in Cape Girardeau County from County Road 375 to County Road 379 near Gordonville will be closed for bridge maintenance from July 15 to July 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. — all projects depend on weather.
