- ➤ Cape Girardeau police chased a suspect in a stolen car from Frederick Street and Olive Street to East Cape Rock Drive and Country Club Road until the vehicle rolled and stopped against a home in the 300 block of E. - ➤ The Jackson R-2 School District partnered with Saint Francis Healthcare to launch the IGNITE CAPS program that gave students hands-on experience in the medical field starting Monday — the program includes classroom instruction, on-site hospital training, and placements for those pursuing education careers. - ➤ On the first day of school at SEMO, students faced long waits and glitches with the new shuttle bus system as Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority took over campus routes—some encountered delays with a faulty transit app while the agency added more drivers and real-time tracking to address the issues.
