- ➤ Cape Girardeau will host its 4th Annual Riverfront Fall Festival on October 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kellerman Foundation Parking Lot, Water Street, Themis Street and Riverfront Park along the flood wall—featuring artisan vendors, food, children's activities and live music. KFVS12
- ➤ Semo Pets in Cape Girardeau is facing an overcrowding crisis and is offering a two-for-one adoption special on cats and kittens until August 25—each pet is spayed, neutered, current on shots and microchipped. Fox 23

- ➤ Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary announced it will permanently close this fall after more than 20 years of rescuing and caring for big cats—its final public tour is on Sunday, Sept. 28—and lodging will remain open through October. Two tigers, Sebastian and Shakira, will be moved to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge while Thor stays with the familiar staff. Fox 23

- ➤ Cape Girardeau PD will host a ribbon cutting for its new substation at 629 Good Hope Street on September 3rd. City Manager Dr. Kenneth Haskin said that utilities, security systems and equipment are installed with final work scheduled next week—after a City Council bill passed in May 2024. KFVS12
