10 in Sikeston+ riders will gather at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church parking lot at 10 a.m. before riding to the Sikeston Sports Complex where kids can win prizes.
Children can explore trucks and emergency vehicles at Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation’s Touch-A-Truck event at Shawnee Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept.
26 (free entry) provides hands-on learning for all ages.
🎭 Culture
The SEMO Marching Band was selected to perform in the 2028 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin as part of Ireland’s annual festival after a rigorous selection process.
Many students will experience international travel for the first time as they represent the University and local community.

MoDOT will boost culvert capacity along Kingshighway today to improve water flow and combat flash floods following a federal review by the Army Corps.
City officials will inspect ditches — ensuring improvements safely manage additional rainfall.
Congressman Mike Bost sent a letter of support on Sept.
3 for the I-66 Corridor project that will help link Cape Girardeau to a future regional beltway + boost local freight and economic activity. TransAmerica Corridor, Inc. said the project will benefit farmers and businesses in the area.
🏥 Health
Veterans can get free flu shots at no-cost clinics run by the Pershing VA Medical Center across seven facilities until Nov.
13 — Cape Girardeau’s drive-through clinic is set for Oct. 16 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 711 S. Mount Auburn Rd.
Mercy Southeast is hosting a free health fair on Oct.
10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Mercy Cancer Center at 789 S. Auburn Road. Families can get screenings, vaccinations, cooking and CPR demos & fun activities like a bounce house and fire truck tours.
