- ➤ Costume Cauldron is accepting gently used Halloween costumes to help local children celebrate the holiday. United Junior Red Organization and JR2 Ignite CAPS have partnered on the giveaway and are asking residents to donate costumes to support kids in the community. Fox 23

- ➤ KY 295 reopened at Livingston Creek Bridge on the Crittenden-Lyon County line after its $1.236 million replacement project finished three weeks early — a project led by Jim Smith Contracting — and now serves 693 vehicles daily. Fox 23
- ➤ A contractor for KYTC will close KY 1203 at mile point 3.09 in Carlisle County starting today to begin a bridge replacement at Gray Creek—located between KY 1022 and KY 1741—with work expected to finish by the end of December if weather permits. Southbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County will see one lane with a 12-foot width for pavement repairs from October 27 to October 31 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fox 23
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Arrowleaf, a local health services organization serving rural southern Illinois, was awarded a $1.2 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to expand care through its Southern Illinois Rural Health Special Track Opportunity initiative. The grant will create jobs over the next four years and support services such as preventative screenings and nutrition-focused care + the organization is hiring for key roles to manage the new program.
