- ➤ KRCU Public Radio celebrated reaching its largest fundraising goal ever by raising $100,000—an increase from the usual target of $57,000 set due to federal funding cuts. - ➤ Cape Girardeau will host Halloween Hoopla on October 24 at Shawnee Park Center from (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.), where children 12 and under will enjoy trick-or-treat bags with candy and toys, Halloween bingo, pumpkin decorating and bowling, and a costume contest starting at (7:30 p.m.) with a $5 admission fee.
