- ➤ The Blue Envelope Program officially launched on October 21 to help Cape County citizens with communication barriers during emergencies—first responders and schools were trained to use blue envelope magnets and seatbelt covers to identify individuals who need extra support. - ➤ The Southeast Missouri Food Bank will expand its annual Empty Bowls event by adding a lunch gathering in Jackson on November 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The food bank will offer soups, sides, and a commemorative bowl plus continue its popular evening event at Riverside Pottery Studio in Cape Girardeau, with ticket proceeds supporting its hunger relief programs. - ➤ Today, First United Methodist Church in Sikeston doubles its SEMO Food Bank Mobile Pantry to help residents amid SNAP cuts and strong turnout for Project Connect. Local organizations will also offer free health care, legal help, and other essential services. Fox 23
