- ➤ On Thanksgiving morning, 700 runners and walkers set a new record at the Gobble Wobble 5K held at Arena Park, benefiting myTEAM Triumph + supporting inclusive racing programs for athletes with disabilities. Organizers said the event raised funds for adaptive equipment and volunteer training while drawing strong local support. Fox 23
- ➤ The Cape Girardeau Police Department and Cape Girardeau County Parks Department will host the inaugural Polar Strut 5K race/1-mile walk on December 12 at Cape County Park South & along a nearby neighborhood to raise funds for Special Olympics Missouri athletes while the park remains closed during the event. - ➤ A downtown Cape Girardeau business served a free Thanksgiving meal to first responders and those in need, with Hotshots Bar and Grill preparing plates for EMTs, police officers — and the homeless. Manager Paul Blaylock said the meal helped show appreciation for community helpers during the lonely holiday season. KFVS12

- ➤ Saxony Lutheran High School honored three student-athletes at its signing day on Nov. 25 — Casey Call signed with Harding University for track, Tali Renshaw with Illinois College for volleyball and Lyndsi Terrell with Missouri Valley College for volleyball — as the school celebrated their achievements and college futures.
