- ➤ Impact 1 More partners with local first responders to host a free Christmas event for families today at Rock of Cape - Home with activities including a bounce house, face painting, toy giveaways and treats offered from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Fox 23
- ➤ As cold temperatures persist, the Salvation Army is opening its doors to offer a warm daytime shelter with free snacks and showers — meals are served on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. and showers are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. KFVS12
- ➤ The 17th Annual Happy Slapowitz Toy Bash held Friday night gathered hundreds of toys and raised thousands for Toys for Tots, providing food + live music for donors. Organizer Ryan Eftink led the event for many years, bringing Christmas joy to our community. KFVS12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Southeast Missouri State University’s Board of Governors approved a contract with Penzel Construction on Friday, Dec. 12 — the project will build a 12,785 sqft South Chiller Plant behind the future Roy Blunt Health Professions Hall and is set to finish by late 2027. KFVS12
