- ➤ A fundraiser supporting local veterans will be held on April 10 at Kokopelli Golf Club. The Denim and Diamonds event features doors opening at 6 p.m., live music from the A1C Band at 7 p.m., table decorating contests, snacks, and a yard sign recognition program. Fox 23
- ➤ Lutheran Family and Children’s Services received a $10,000 grant from the Procter & Gamble Fund to improve home safety for about 90 families in the region. Caseworkers are assessing needs to help create safer living conditions for local families. Fox 23

- ➤ Jurassic Quest, a traveling dinosaur exhibit, will offer life-sized dinosaurs, fossil digs, and interactive activities for families from May 1 to May 3 in Cape Girardeau (tickets are expected to sell out) and (attendees can ride dinosaurs, enjoy crafts, and meet baby dinosaurs). Fox 23

- ➤ Southeast Missouri State University will host Future Teacher Day on April 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Cape Girardeau campus to offer high school students hands-on activities, campus tours and sessions with faculty (including admissions and financial aid information) to explore teaching careers. - ➤ District officials urge voters to review Proposition K.I.D.S.—which proposes a $0.41 tax increase to raise $52.5 million for rebuilding Perryville High School after last spring’s tornado—ahead of the April 7 election; voters will also choose board members on election day. Fox 23
