The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau donated money to the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence to fund free forensic interviews, medical exams and counseling services for victims of abuse.

Sandy Hasting, the club's Service Chair, said the contribution supports the network's work in providing care and advocacy for survivors in the region.

Flash floods on Friday evening forced water rescues in Wayne, Iron, Cape Girardeau and Bollinger Counties—troopers and fire departments helped trapped residents—and closed bridges on East Independence Street and Sunset Drive over Hubble Creek as crews cleared flooded streets.
