If you've got plans Tuesday evening, keep an eye on the sky, since parts of southeast Missouri are in a severe weather outlook. A cold front will bring showers and potential thunderstorms, and KFVS12 says a line of storms moves in from the west in the evening hours, then continues overnight into early Wednesday morning.

Storms are due Tuesday evening and linger into Wednesday

  1. Nov. 2Drizzle and overcast skies linger, with highs in the upper 60s.
  2. Nov. 3A cold front brings showers, with a line of storms from the west in the evening.
  3. Nov. 4Storms continue overnight into early Wednesday morning, then depart.

KBSI says a Marginal Risk, Level 1 out of 5, of severe weather covers the western half of its viewing area, and an isolated severe storm or two is possible. Instability still looks minimal, KFVS12 noted Sunday, but winds will be gusty either way.

  • Main threat: damaging wind gusts in the strongest storms
  • Risk area: western half of KBSI's viewing area
  • After the front: much drier, with temperatures closer to average

Tuesday's severe risk is marginal, with gusts near 30 mph
